Course Overview

The study of online violent extremism is an emerging and growing field in academia – one that can, however, expose researchers to risk of harm online and offline. Guided by GIFCT’s mission to counter online extremism, this  two-day workshop aims to provide PhD students with foundation skills for studying online extremist groups. The workshop will cover three core themes: online methodologies, personal safety and wellbeing, and research ethics.

This workshop will be held on 26-27 June 2023, at the University of Oslo.

What’s Included

Successful applicants will be provided:

  • Three nights accommodation in Oslo
  • Lunches during the workshop and one group dinner in Oslo
