The Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET), with support from the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), invites you to attend our latest workshop, Extremism and Emerging & Disruptive Technologies (EDT): Complexities and Containment. The workshop will cover AI, drones, blockchain, and more emerging and disruptive technologies being used in the extremist space.

Featured Panellists:
Alessandro Bolpagni is a research analyst at the Italian Team for Security Terroristic Issues and Managing Emergencies – ITSTIME. He specialised in International Relations, geopolitics in the Middle East, OSINT, Digital HUMINT, and SOCMINT. His research activities are oriented on jihadist organizations and paramilitary companies in Africa and the Middle East.

Dr Chamila Liyanage is a specialist in terrorism and political violence. She investigates the nexus between grey zone/hybrid threats and enabling technologies such as AI. She is a member of the Standing Group on Organised Crime (SGOC) of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), a member of the Strategic Hub for Organised Crime Research Network of the Royal United Services Institute, London, and a fellow of the Far Right Analysis Network (FRAN).

Dr Francis Okpaleke is a Senior Research and Policy Analyst in Canada. His domain expertise cuts across drone technology, terrorism and security studies and Defense studies.
