This GNET webinar will present key research findings and analysis from the project ‘Examining Socialization with a Nexus to Radicalization Across Gaming (-Adjacent) Platforms Through a Gender Lens’, which was funded by Public Safety Canada, led by RUSI and implemented by a consortium of members of the Extremism and Gaming Research Network. The webinar will focus on unpacking the findings from the project, which are captured in the final report Radicalisation through Gaming: The Role of Gendered Social Identity. It will identify the data and analysis that are particularly relevant for gaming and gaming-adjacent platforms, identifying recommendations for Trust and Safety teams and prevention and countering extremism efforts and policies. The objective is to provide useful insights and evidence to help safeguard gamers and prevent and mitigate risks of exploitation for radicalization and extremist purposes. GNET is pleased to host this webinar as part of our forthcoming Insight series, which will expand on the project.
