GNET/EGRN Webinar - From Mods to Manifestos: New Data on Extremist Games, Gamified Violence, and Misogyny
The Extremism and Gaming Research Network (EGRN) invites you to attend their upcoming webinar: “From Mods to Manifestos: New Data on Extremist Games, Gamified Violence, and Misogyny,” hosted by the Global Network on Extremism and Technology.
The webinar will feature two EGRN datasets that offer a systematic picture of the threat landscape to date. These datasets catalogue extremist games, mods, and user-generated content across the ideological spectrum, as well as the Gamified Violent Incidents Database (GVID), which tracks real-world violent incidents with a demonstrated nexus to gaming and/or gaming-related platforms.
This event coincides with the UN’s Orange the World campaign and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December), placing gaming and violent extremism-specific evidence within the broader global conversation on technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).
