GNET Workshop - Artificial Intelligence and Violent Extremism: Ethical Approaches and Counter Measures (26 March 2024)

The Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET), with support from the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), invites you to attend the second event in a two-part virtual workshop series on Artificial Intelligence and Violent Extremism.

This workshop will explore the nexus between effective AI-powered countermeasures and responsible AI development, emphasising the importance of ethical considerations in leveraging AI technologies to counter violent extremism.

Panellists:
Olivier Cauberghs is a researcher at Textgain. He is also a member of the expert pool of the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN), the European Observatory of Online Hate (EOOH) and the Extremism and Gaming Research Network (EGRN). His research primarily focuses on violent extremist and terrorist use of the Internet.

Miron Lakomy is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Silesia and an International Research Fellow at the University of Milan focusing on various aspects of political violence and terrorism on the Internet, mapping terrorist communications on the surface and dark web with open-source intelligence.
