The Repository of Extremist Aligned Documents (READ)

What is READ?

The Repository of Extremist Aligned Documents (READ) is a project developed by the Centre for Statecraft & National Security (CSNS) at King’s College London.

READ seeks to provide, curate, and manage a secure, controlled repository where researchers and experts can access far-right/ideologically motivated violent extremism (IMVE) documents and primary sources, with entries collected according to our inclusion criteria and selected with academic rigour. It includes material from a variety of far-right/ideologically motivated violent extremists (IMVE) and related movements, including Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE) material.

How It Started

READ was started in 2023 by a researcher community as a special project of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR), with funding from Public Safety Canada’s Community Resilience Fund. The project aimed to provide researchers with a safe, centralised database of far-right and related extremist materials.

In March 2026, the new READ platform was launched on the professional repository software DSpace, offering an expanded library and improved user experience. Since then, the archive has been updated and maintained by a team at the Centre for Statecraft & National Security, based at King’s College London.
